Yes, all our products are 100% vegan.
We only use organic ingredients. We don't have an organic certification yet but we're working on it..
Our products are predominantly cashew based as it contains fewer fibers, which allow us to produce a creamier product. For this reason, its a very efficient raw material in the production of vegan cheese. Moreover, cashew nuts grow in areas with a lot of water, without the need of irrigation systems (it often grows only with rainwater), unlike other nuts. However, we aim to use national ingredients whenever possible, which is why we use almonds in some of our products.
Our almonds come from Douro's Region, in the North of Portugal, and our cashew nuts are from Vietnam.
We use the most sustainable packaging we found to pack products. The cream cheeses are kept in recyclable and reusable glass bottles and the other cheeses in an home compostable packaging, made from wood pulp from sustainable forestry. Please compost them at home or in a municipal organic waste container. If you have no way to do this, put them in the trash as they cannot be recycled. The stickers are not recyclable yet, we are working on this aspect.
We are working hard to ensure that our packaging is the most eco-friendly possible. If you have any suggestion, please feel free to share with us.
We want to promote the reuse of packaging whenever possible. Therefore, we will give you a € 0.50 discount voucher on a future purchase for each bottle or delivery box that is returned to us (in good condition). You just need to deliver the respective packaging to us on our next delivery.
No.They will become softer with heat, but they won't melt. In any case, you can use them as toppings in pastas and pizzas and place it in the oven.
Check the label to see shelf life of each product. As reference, approx. shelf life for our products is:
Cajuberto – 2 weeks
V’eden – 2 weeks
Brito – 1 week
Creamy – 3 weeks
All products must be refrigerated between 0 and 5ºC and eaten within 5 days of opening.
We recommend that you keep the cheeses in the driest place possible in the refrigerator as they can develop mold if there is too much moisture. As with cheeses of animal origin, there will be no problem if you scratch off that part and eat the rest.
All products can be frozen, however, their texture and flavor may change slightly after thawing. Defrosting must be done slowly, inside the refrigerator.
None of our products contain gluten or lactose. We use a very small amount of miso (a fermented product made from rice and soy) only in our V'eden, so there may be cross contamination among other products, but unlikely.
We advise you to follow your doctor's instructions. Although they do not contain the same risks as cheeses of animal origin, our product undergoes a fermentation process and therefore we cannot guarantee that there will be no risks.
We'd love to supply your store! The best way would be to suggest that they buy our products and send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with their contact.
