FAQs

You can order through our website. We are also already on sale in some stores in Portugal.

In the Lisbon area, we deliver by courier every Thursday from 9am to 1pm (for orders placed before 2pm the day before). In the rest of the country, deliveries are made within 1 to 5 business days after placing the order.

Yes, all of our products are 100% vegan.

Yes, all of our products are organically produceeefrfrffrfrfr certified by KIWA SATIVA.

We mainly use cashew as the base of our cheeses, as it has the particularity of containing little fiber, which allows us to obtain a very creamy product. Therefore, it is a very efficient raw material in the manufacture of vegan cheeses. Furthermore, as it comes from areas with a lot of water, it ends up not needing almost any irrigation (it often grows only with rainwater), unlike other nuts.

Our cashews come from Burkina Faso. We only use fairtrade cashews as we believe it is essential to protect those who grow our ingredients.

We use the most sustainable packaging we can find. The creamy cheeses are stored in recyclable and reusable glass jars and the remaining cheeses in home compostable packaging. Vacuum bags can be composted at home or placed in a municipal organic waste container. Brito and Cajuberto films are only industrially compostable and must therefore be placed in a municipal organic waste container. If ther is no way to do this, put them in the common trash as they cannot be recycled. The paper boxes are made from 100% recycled and recyclable FSC paper.

We want to promote the reuse of packaging whenever possible. In this sense, we will give a €0.50 discount voucher on a future purchase for each bottle or delivery box that is returned to us (in good condition). To do so, all you need to do is give us the respective packaging to us when we make a new delivery. For logistical reasons, this option is only available for deliveries in the Lisbon area, in the markets in which we participate monthly and in our space in Marvila.

We are doing our best to ensure our packaging is as environmentally friendly as possible. If you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to send them.

No. Although our cheeses become softer when hot, they will not melt. In any case, they can be added to pasta or pizza and baked.

Check the label to see the specific expiration date of each product. For reference, these are the minimum expiration dates when we ship the product:

Cajuberto – 10 to 21 days

V’eden – 15 to 21 days

Brito – 10 to 21 days

Creamy – 15 to 21 days

All products must be refrigerated at 0 to 5ºC and consumed within 7 days of opening.

We recommend keeping cheeses in the driest place possible in the fridge as they can develop mold if there is too much humidity. As with cheeses of animal origin, there will be no problem if you scrape off that part and eat the rest, in solid cheeses.

All products can be frozen, however, their texture and flavor may change slightly after thawing. Defrosting must be done slowly, inside the refrigerator. We recommend opening the packaging when defrosting so that the product does not retain too much moisture, which could lead to the development of unwanted mold.

None of our products contain gluten or lactose. We only use a very small amount of miso (a fermented product made from rice and soy) in our V’eden, so there may be cross-contamination from this ingredient to other cheeses, although this is unlikely.

We advise you to follow your doctor's instructions. Although they do not contain the same risks as cheeses of animal origin, our product goes through a fermentation process and therefore we cannot guarantee that there will be no risks.

We would love to supply your store! The best way would be to suggest that they buy our products and send us an email to info@muka.pt with their contact details.
